- We recommend 3D adaptive clearing for most roughing operastions. Some cases where we would recommend a different toolpath would be slotting or a shallow pocket. There is no one size fits all. The goal is to get rid of as much material as you can, as quickly as you can, so you can get to the finishing operations.
- There are several finishing tools paths available to you. Horizontal is great for finishing flat areas. 3D contour can get all the walls. Steep and shallow machining for one size fits all finishing BUT it will likely create a very long toolpath time depending on your settings. It's a combination of the Contour for the 'steep' areas and the Parallel or Scallop toolpaths for the 'shallow' areas. Here's another article on Why Steep and Shallow?.
- Horizontal is great for clearing up the flat areas.
- You can find the tool library in the Fusion Team hub. Follow these instructions on how to 'Enable Cloud Libraries' in your preferences.
